Book Signing with
        Chris DeVore

May 3, 2009—The Mountain Home Arts Council will host a book signing for local author Chris DeVore at Common Ground Coffee & Plants on Saturday, May 16 from 1 to 3 PM. DeVore will be signing his third novel, A Palatable Past, which was released by PublishAmerica earlier this year. Copies will be available for purchase at $20. Refreshments will be served and coffee drinks will also be available for purchase.

From the back cover:

“There is a longstanding rumor that Bison Run was named after a historical running with the bison. For over one hundred years, people have imagined settlers running down Main Street with the huge beasts on either side shaking the earth to pieces. I have come to believe this is but fiction…”

A Palatable Past is about a Montana town, a Montana boy, and thousands of Montana-sized questions. Popeye Moony, with a questionable name but unassailable ambition, has asked all the questions, strangled the world for love and meaning, and then forgotten all in the pursuit of every kid’s dream: everything.

What can be done when all is accomplished and all is lost?

Set in sentimental and emblematic Bison Run, Montana, where baseballs fly and self-help books sell by the truckload; A Palatable Past battles the idea that a messy, dubious life is an unworthy life.
